New Castle County is home to five of Delaware's 15 dispensaries (four in the Wilmington metro area plus Fresh Cannabis in nearby Newark, covered in its own guide). For visitors arriving from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Maryland via I-95, these are the most accessible dispensaries in the state — all within 15 minutes of the interstate.

The Wilmington area offers the most variety of any Delaware market, with four distinct operators each bringing a different approach: a multi-state operator (Columbia Care), a veteran-owned craft shop (Field Supply), Delaware's original dispensary (Thrive), and a family-owned seed-to-shelf operation (The Farm in New Castle).

Columbia Care (The Cannabist Company) — Wilmington

Columbia Care's Wilmington location sits on Concord Pike (US-202), one of Delaware's busiest commercial corridors and easily accessible from I-95 via Exit 8. As part of The Cannabist Company, one of the largest multi-state operators in the country, this location carries a broad product selection. The store is a convenient stop for visitors driving in from southeastern Pennsylvania — the Pennsylvania border is less than 5 miles north.

Field Supply Cannabis & Provisions — Wilmington

Veteran-owned and proudly independent, Field Supply is the craft-cannabis standout of the Wilmington market. Located on Kirkwood Highway (DE-2), the dispensary is known for its "Valor Craft" product line — organic, soil-based cannabis cultivated with a focus on terpene-rich, small-batch quality over mass production. Field Supply also has some of the longest hours in the area, staying open until 9 PM on weekdays, making it a good option for after-work visits.

Thrive Dispensary — Wilmington

Thrive holds a unique place in Delaware cannabis history. Operating as First State Compassion since 2015, this was Delaware's very first dispensary — originally serving only medical patients. Now owned by MariMed and rebranded as Thrive, the Germay Drive location serves both recreational and medical customers. Medical patients still enjoy extra perks here, including home delivery and curbside pickup — services not available for recreational purchases under Delaware law.

The Farm — New Castle

The Farm is a family-owned, seed-to-shelf operation — they grow, process, and sell everything themselves. The New Castle location on Route 13 (Dupont Highway) is their northernmost store and the closest dispensary to the Delaware Memorial Bridge, making it a convenient first stop for visitors arriving from New Jersey. The Farm operates three locations statewide, including Delaware's only drive-thru dispensary at their Felton location.

Getting Here from Out of State

• From Philadelphia / Pennsylvania: Take I-95 South across the state line. Columbia Care on Concord Pike is accessible from Exit 8; Field Supply on Kirkwood Hwy from Exit 6.
• From New Jersey: Cross the Delaware Memorial Bridge (I-295/US-40) and take Route 13 south. The Farm in New Castle is less than 5 minutes from the bridge.
